Yankees and Red Sox Game

There are some amazing rivalries in sports. You've got North Carolina/Duke, Michigan/Ohio State, Florida/Florida State as the biggies in college sports (oh and of course BYU/Utah). Pro is harder to come by. Cowboys/Redskins, Dodgers/Giants, Cubs/WhiteSox, Bears/Packers, and the 80's had the Celtics/Lakers rivalry which is one of the best things ever to happen to the NBA. The mother of all sports rivalries, at least everyone can agree that the mother of all pro sports rivalries is Yankees/RedSox.

I felt like a little school girl as we approached Yankee Stadium. Actually, I felt like a little school girl who had just begun the first day of 2nd grade and had a brand new outfit, lunch packed with Gushers fruit snacks and a My Little Pony Lunchbox with a thermos filled with Hi-C Ecto Cooler (the best Hi-C flavor ever). The game was everything I had hoped for and then some.

We were in the nosebleeds. F Boston chants would start every few minutes and any time a RedSox fan would cheer the section would all point at the person and yell "A Hole" in unison. It actually sounded like the "Airball" chants in basketball. Many a RedSox fan was kicked out of the game for unruly behavior and when that happened all the adjacent fans would dowse them with beer, nachos, peanuts, and whatever they had. The fans were crazy. It was like a great big party, especially since the Yankees were winning. It was so cool to sit in the south Bronx and soak in the atmosphere of a Yankees/Redsox game. That's not something that happens everyday.

Did you see "Fever Pitch"? Good flick about a Red Sox fan...

Scott and Brenna have watched all the Yankees/Red Sox games this year. They cheer for Boston, as Scott tells Brenna that cheering for the Yanks is like cheering for Goliath.

Cool photos.

I agree with your friend Carrie, "Fever Pitch" is excellent. The movie is part of our small DVD collection.
